       Cultural Creativity and Tourism School


      To meet the rising demands of Greater Bay Area Economy Circle for talents, Cultural Creativity and Tourism School was jointly established by the Education Department of Guangdong Province, People’s Government of Foshan City, People’s Government of Sanshui District, Foshan City and Guangdong University of Finance & Economics(GDUFE) in May 2017, located in Foshan Campus of GDUFE. In July 2020, to cooperate with the construction of The Pilot Zone for Film  and  Television  Industry Cooperation in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,  GDUFE  and the Publicity  Department  of  Foshan  Municipal  Party  Committee  jointly established the School of Greater Bay Area Film and Television Industry on the basis of the Cultural Creativity and Tourism School.  

 The school is located in the Yundonghai Tourist Area of Sanshui, Foshan, with picturesque environment. At present, it offers majors such as Digital Media Art, Animation, Advertising, Hotel management, etc. It will start to enroll Master of Fine Arts (MFA) students in 2021. In accordance with the idea of reasonable planning, step-by-step implementation, highlighting strengths and encouraging interdisciplinary, the school gradually builds a speciality group connecting the whole chain of film and television industry, builds a talent output system which matches the industrial chain throughout the stages of film and television creation, and cultivates film and television talents “foothold in Foshan, serving the Bay Area and facing the world".

 The faculty team consists of many professors, associate professors, master tutors and industry celebrities, with strong research and practical teaching ability. Most teachers graduate from the Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy and other top film and television art universities. At the same time, Zhang Qian, the producer of Wolf Warriors, Li Anlei, a famous sound engineer who won the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Award, Shi Yanfeng, deputy editor-in-chief of Guangdong Radio and Television station and founder of The Southern Documentary, and many other industry celebrities were invited as visiting professors.

 The school advocates the collaborative education mode based on the cooperation among university, government, industry association and enterprise, and realizes the seamless docking of talent cultivation and industry demand. The school also attaches great importance to cultivate students’practical ability. Students have won many prizes in top competitions such as China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, National College Students Advertising Art Competition, and National University Digital Art and Design Awards.

 The school owns superior teaching facilities. The Experimental Building is equipped with digital creative workshops, multi-functional studios, show room, film and television sound studio, digital movie theater and other teaching places, equipped with 4K cameras, unmanned aerial vehicles, motion capture systems, film and television post-production stations and other top-class practical teaching facilities.

 The mission of the school is to serve the development of the film and television industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the goal is to provide industrial talents with strong practical ability, and to promote the industrial development with scientific research and think tanks. The school has the Greater Bay Area Film and Television Creation and Research Center approved by Chinese Collegial Association For Visual Art (the only national-level association for visual art in China), which has the dual functions of film and television creation and scientific research. The school hosts the Greater Bay Area Film and Television Industry Forum once a year, which has become an influential high-end forum integrating academic and industrial exploration.
