Established in 2014, The Department of English originates from the previous Department of English Language and Culture. Currently the department has 13 faculty members, who are experienced and dedicated to the teaching career. The whole faculty will make efforts to promote the quality of lecturing and teaching, and form a better team.

English language and literature major aims to train the students with competent language ability, provide them with knowledge of international business management and of humanities and social science, enhance their ability of cross-cultural communication, and foster creative consciousness, thus enabling the students to obtain professional in English language, who could act competently in their specific fields. The department now strives to improve the teaching mode and the course design, and establish an educational system with characteristics and modern scientific ideas.
